Friday Top Five

Happy Friday!  I can’t believe 4th of July is just around the corner.  I hope you’re getting a head start on the long weekend festivities.  I’m ready for sunshine and pool time.  Speaking of…I’m a huge fan of one-piece swimsuits and designers have really up’d their game over the past year.  There are so many great options and i’ve had my eye on this sexy little crochet number.  I’m sure there will be some interesting tan lines, but well worth it:)

Also, we’re getting into the thick of the sticky summer heat and there’s nothing worse than thigh chafing; especially if you’re like most women who aren’t blessed with a thigh gap.  Blogger Katie Sturino of @the12ishstyle, is the brains behind the Megababe product line and it’s awesome!  Due to overwhelming demand, it’s backordered until July 28th so get on it ladies!

Friday Top Five

Happy Friday!  This week is dedicated to my Top Five Summer beauty staples.  I love all of these products and wanted to share them with you.  I’m always on the hunt for great beauty products and will be sure to share along the way.

I came across this hair mist salt spray at a boutiuqe in Wicker Park and it smells like pure coconut – it’s like an instant spriz of Summer!  And the lip balm has SPF, adds the perfect hit of color and moisture- plus it comes in several shades (besides my fave bright pink).  Hope you enjoy and would love to hear some of your faves too!

Summer Bucket List

Summer days are drifting away….it’s time to get serious about my Summer bucket list.  Each year I put a list together and never get around to checking them off.  I’ve been really kicking up my concert attendance this year which has been a goal of mine.  However, there a few others on my list that I’ve gotta cross off before Summer’s over.  Here’s my list and I think it’s pretty solid.  Let the planning commence!

Lake Geneva

Take a day trip – There are several places that are in driving distance of Chicago.  I’m thinking Lake Geneva, Wisconsin is in my future.  Beautiful place on the water and a mini escape from the city.  Also, I love a good dive bar and have heard Hogan’s Goat and The Inn Between are local favorites.

Explore neighborhoods – Chicago has no shortage of food and drink and things to do.  And, there are so many neighborhoods I haven’t visited in awhile where I can explore the old and new.  Andersonville is so cute and there are a ton of great restaurants and vintage shops to check out.  Brimfield is my favorite and i’m overdue for a visit (pictured above).

movies in the park

Movies in the park – Free movie in the park with a picnic and pals- yes please!  There’s even an app for that.

Street festival – There are multiple street festivals every weekend in the Summer.  It can be a little overwhelming, but I’m looking forward to checking out a few new festivals.  Maybe while exploring a new neighborhood…

Yoga on the beach – I enjoy starting my morning with a good workout.  It sets the tone for the day and let’s be honest, gets one thing off the list for the day.  I’ve had this one on my radar for years now and the time has come to make it happen.  Namaste.

sailing
Learn how to sail- Cue your best yacht rock playlist and bust out the boat shoes.  Who doesn’t want to be on a boat in the summer.  Okay, there’s some work to do but it’s worth it.  Registration is still open…

June Cravings

June is going by so fast I almost missed sharing my monthly cravings with you.  Trying to make the most of the nice days we’re having in Chicago since they go by quickly.  I’ve enjoyed celebrating my b-day this month, but I’m really looking forward to the long 4th of July holiday with my family at the lake.  Look out of some fun posts next week leading up to the holiday weekend.
